Professional sound systems

Sound for hospitality, clubs and business spaces.

Kooijman Connection designs and installs sound systems for hospitality, clubs, halls and business premises: background music per zone, paging, speech that is intelligible everywhere and sound that carries a club. With our own team, and management after handover.

What goes into a sound system?

A good sound system starts with the room: how big, how loud or quiet, and what needs to be heard. From there we choose loudspeakers, amplifiers and a processor that controls the sound per zone. Staff operate it from a wall panel or app: pick a source, set the volume per zone, done.

01Loudspeakers
In-ceiling, surface or pendant, chosen for the room, interior and sound pressure.
02Amplifiers
100V for many speakers over long distances, low impedance for full sound.
03Processor (DSP)
Controls tone, volume and delay per zone, and protects the system.
04Zones
Bar, terrace, hall or warehouse each with its own source and volume.
05Microphones and paging
Wireless microphones for speakers, a paging microphone for announcements.
06Control
Wall panel or app: source, volume and zones without technical knowledge.

    Media Park, Hilversum

In the long entrance hall of ORYN, the 5,830 m² event venue in the former Studio 21, Kooijman Connection hung Bose Professional DesignMax Luna pendant loudspeakers (DML88P). Their ring layout spreads the sound evenly through the hall, together with lighting and projection.

What does each space need?

A bar, a club, a hall and a warehouse each ask something different of sound.

100V system or low impedance?

There are two ways to connect loudspeakers. The choice depends on the number of speakers and the sound you want.
100V systemLow impedance
SuitsMany speakers over long distancesFewer speakers with full sound
Typical placeOffice, retail, warehouse, terraceClub, hall, stage
CablingLong runs, thin cable is enoughShorter distances, thicker cable

Many spaces combine both: 100V for background music and paging, low impedance for the hall or dance floor.

What drives the cost of a sound system?

No fixed prices: every room sounds different. After an on-site meeting you receive a design with a quote. These are the factors.
  1. 01

    Floor area and zones

More rooms and zones mean more speakers and channels.

  2. 02

    Required volume

Background music needs less than a dance floor.

  3. 03

    Type of loudspeakers

In-ceiling, pendant or design speakers that suit the interior.

  4. 04

    Acoustics

A reverberant room calls for directional speakers or acoustic treatment.

  5. 05

    Cabling and mounting

Ceiling, walls, and how the cables are hidden.

  6. 06

    Control and microphones

Wall panels, app control and wireless microphones.

How we work

  1. 01

    On-site meeting

We listen to the room and hear how you use it.

  2. 02

    Design and quote

Loudspeakers, zones and control, with a clear quote.

  3. 03

    Installation

Our own team mounts, cables and connects.

  4. 04

    Tuning and walkthrough

Tone and volume set per zone, and a walkthrough for staff.

Frequently asked questions about sound systems

01What is a 100V sound system?

In a 100V system the amplifier works at a high voltage, so many loudspeakers can share one long cable. That is ideal for background music and paging in offices, shops and warehouses. For full sound at high volume we choose a low-impedance system.

02Can we set different music or volume per room?

Yes. We divide the building into zones, such as bar, terrace and hall. Per zone staff choose the source and volume on a wall panel or in an app.

03Is a paging system the same as a voice evacuation system?

No. A paging system is for announcements and music. A voice evacuation system (in the Netherlands under NEN 2575) is required in certain buildings and must be certified. During the inventory we tell you what applies to your building.

04Do I have to pay for music in my business?

Yes. In the Netherlands, playing music in a business or hospitality venue requires a licence from Buma/Stemra and Sena. That is separate from the installation.

05Which brands do you work with?

Among others Bose Professional, RCF, Shure and Sennheiser. We choose per room on sound, look and budget; the design names the models we propose.

Does your space sound the way you want?

Book an on-site meeting. We listen to the room and advise the sound that suits it.
